with Cheat Engine, i saw in a software some modules look like this:
call 00xxxxxx

and follow the call, i saw "ret" only.

is there any use of this kind of "call" ? or is it useless leftover by the programmer?

useless leftover. Usually a result of object oriented programming where a base class object needs to be implemented by one of the classes that inherit that class
