I start a new game, ask for the usual, flux stone, river, no aquifer.
What does it give me?
A FUCKING SHITTON OF STEAMS AND RIVERS SURROUNDING MY STARTING AREA. IT LOOKS LIKE THERES A BIG OCEAN IN THE MIDDLE OF MY MAP. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
NOT TO MENTION THERE IS NO MOUNTAIN NEARBY

I dont use search.
I just look for something with high trees/plants, temperate weather, calm forest, and mountain to the south.
Is there anyway to get rid of pets? I noticed before i had a catsplosion, but its annoying having them go everywhere.

It's good to have a lot of pets. Once you get a butcher, you can slaughter them all for tons of food.
Also, I'd recommend using search... That way you're less likely to run into Aquifers, which is underground water, that could get annoying :S

You can't butcher pets. You butcher the ones none of the dwarves own. The pets are usefull, so you can keep a good number of puppies or kittens to butcher for more food :>

I dont want a fucking camel as a pet ;_;
why didnt the cat choose them.
