nice concept, something I would maybe like to elaborate in 3D later on but right now
lines look a little too sketchy and the shading is shard and smooth in some parts , doesn't blend really well... I think its mostly because you used a fairly medium size round brush for it and tried to make the organic imperfections with it?
I give it a 7/10

Thanks guys. I'll try a bit harder and consider improvements on the style. I'm thinking of just doing the general outline in black, instead of the entire outline. And one the problems I had with this was the result of working on it while zoomed in. It gave it too much of a rough/messy look, more than I was planning.

This is a great example of your work. A-m-a-z-i-n-g! The only thing i could think of that should be improve is make the general outline in all black and only emphasize parts inside the outline with black then make the rest without an outline. If that made sense then try it if you want, but it may not look better.

Really nice U2A, what techniques do you use when sketching these? Do you just use the brush tool and do a base sketch then ink and color it? Also, did you get your Cintiq yet?

That's where I got most of the inspiration and technique ideas.
The coloring techniques and ideas were inspired by:

I did the outline on one layer, defining most of the needed details, then put a layer below it for colors.
I'm still using a Bamboo, don't think a Cintiq will happen anytime soon. Though I'm actually looking forward to an Intuos, that'd be much better than my Bamboo and it doesn't cost a fortune.

Now, just curious, is it Zick as in [[zick, the monster guardion of yadda yadda yadda]] or is it The Zick?

Heh, I'm actually saving up for an Intuos too, or maybe a Bamboo touch & Pen depending on how much I can salvage from my birthday and Christmas which are very close together.
