Format your whole disk, just format it all. Then create a new partition.
Mind you all of this during the setup.

Not required.
All, that's needed, is a clean install.

Well when they format it they just delete everything, not just write zeros over every piece. Format does mean different meanings for example
Quote: | Disk formatting is the process of preparing a hard disk or other storage medium for use, including setting up an empty file system. ... |
It does not necessarily mean to overwrite every single thing to all zeros. The reason for this is to let Windows 7 create the necessary 100MB partition to make sure it is correctly installed. I might be speaking out of my ass but until you have install Windows 7 at least 3 times try to let someone with experience who have used this Windows 7 and know the installation glitches that come with it.

I would rather not listen to somebody who needs to cite Wikipedia for a definition of what it means to format a drive. Three Windows installations means almost nothing.
Thread useless pending OP response

I totally agree with this, but, as i said, its completely unneeded to format the drive to install _ANY_ operating system.
Else i should buy another 2 of 1TB WD Caviar Black HDDs just to back up my files, so i would be able to format >_>
It's absolutely pointless.
Now, if you are going to install on a certain partition - then its good to flush it, since manually deleting the unneeded anymore folders takes time. A format saves it

ESET, Kaspersky, Norton, and I think Avira will work. All very nice AVs, as long as you stay updated and are running the latest version. Of course, don't use more than one at a time.

Windows Security Essentials just came out.
I've been using it today, no problems yet. (It's low-resource which is the main reason why I'm using it.)
