The solution for http://forum.cheatengine.org/viewtopic.php?t=458425 didn't work for me as the checkbox is disabled. Is there a way to enable it or some other thing I can do? The situations are the same.

Now you're in the same boat as I -- I posted a topic on this matter not too long ago and needless to say, no one here could even understand what I was trying to do much less point me in the right direction.

If you can locate and install monitor drivers, they should tell windows what resolutions your monitor can handle. Normally this is done through the VGA or DVI cable but sometimes it doesn't work.

Can you use a DVI cable? I'm pretty sure that would solve your problem.

But if you can only use VGA and you have a nvidia card, try going into the nvidia control panel and setting a custom resolution. That seems to work sometimes.

Windows gave me a little bubble in the bottom right hand corner with a link to download something to fix it, and so far so good

Probably monitor drivers -- the very thing that the idiots in my thread claimed did not exist/was not necessary.

Glad to hear it fixed your problem. But I wonder if it could have been fixed any other ways.

It sounds like you just hooked up a new monitor, got a new computer, or reformatted... so is it possible that you didn't install your graphics card drivers?
