Shutdown PC
Shutdown Modem/Router
Disconnect the cable from the wall for 10 minutes.
Reconnect cable
Turn on PC
Run CCleaner and clear everything
Turn on modem/router

I just made this up, but try it...

All of the above.

However, if the problem persists, I'd suggest this, and only do this as a last stitch effort if nothing else works

1. Backup all your personal files, documents, music, pictures, etc.

2. Find the Reset to Factory Defaults option during startup

3. Reset to factory defaults.

4. Wait about 1-2 hours or so for the reset to finish, make sure you don't mess anything up.

5. Once restarted, simply pop your backed up files back onto your computer (I used a USB flash drive when I did this a month ago).

Once you've done all that, re-download whatever you had downloaded that you really needed, like Windows Live Messenger/Yahoo Messenger/what have you, etc.

This worked for me, because my laptop was so bogged down due to my custom Vista skin, and many other things.

I reset to factory defaults and reloaded whatever I actually needed, and my lappy works like brand new.

His Firefox is taking forever to load up (usually due to excessive add-ons and about 6 months of internet history) there is NO need to reformat.

Funny, mine was doing the same thing, and nothing seemed to help it.

Plus, for some reason, after installing a Windows Update, my Aero theme broke, and reverted to Windows Classic permanently, so I had to reformat.

But if you knew how to read, and you obviously don't, I said

THIS IS A LAST STITCH EFFORT, ONLY DO THIS IF NOTHING ELSE WORKS

There is no need to in the first place the only last stitch would to reinstall firefox after deleting all firefox profiles.

He is talking about his INTERNET EXPLORER/FIREFOX/CHROME SO IF YOU KNEW HOW TO READ THEN YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND.

I agree with Saif, you won't need to format your computer because your browser is running slow... Just delete all cache etc as I stated above.

When I deleted my cache and everything, my net still ran slow, due to things like my custom Vista theme, and Rocketdock, etc.

Once I reformatted, it sped back up. But again, my Aero theme broke and reverted permanently to Windows Classic, so i had to reformat

So it broke on your own fault.

So therefore his problem is only due to his INTERNET BROWSER.

Just quit posting Daedryon you keep on proving yourself to be ignorant and retarded.

We'll need to know more about your problem, as there are infinitely many possibilities for why your internet is going slow. Have you been doing anything on the internet differently than usual? Downloading a lot of torrents?

I'm guessing that it's the browser that's slow, and loading web pages even slower.

Run CCleaner, run the browser in safe mode (eg: disable all add-ons), stop downloading porn from torrents. Also run a scan with your AV (Malware Bytes, Spyware: S&D, etc...) for viruses.

Also post a HiJackThis log here for us to see more crap.
