Ok, so this morning I turned on my comp but it wouldn't boot (in any mode), A BSOD flashed up for about 0.3 seconds then the computer restarted...So I booted with a liveCD and transferred my files then reformatted using the disc provided by my manufacturer (i've reformatted with this disc 4-5 times before). Everything went smoothly and it's running again now, but I have 2 problems.
1. My graphics card is no longer being recognized by my laptop. It's reverted to using the shitty standard onboard one which is intolerable.
2. I can't control volume or other media functions with my shortcut keys anymore (the laptop has built in 2nd Function key and using it with f11/f12/arrow keys allows me to altar current sound/media settings). The keys all work fine on other functions.
I did the same thing I do every time i reformat and this is the first time these issues have occured. Anybody got any idea on how I can fix them?

Nah it's not drivers, I used the same driver disc as last time, and even if the driver wasn't installed it would still show up in device manager as an uninstalled device I think.

How about downloading latest driver from Nvidia's site or ATI's site...
