|
|
So, I've been looking around for a decent card to be able to play games with a fairly good frame rate. Right now I'm trying to choose between the SAPPHIRE 100225L Radeon HD 3870 512MB 256-bit GDDR4, and the XFX Radeon HD 4650 1GB DDR2. For the sapphire id have to shop online and pay for shipping, but the XFX I could get it from best buy. I cant decide which is a better deal as they're both the same price.
Also, is there a way to hook up the XFX to a T.V other than hdmi that would b good graphics with sound?

Get the 3870.
As for the TV, if you're not using HDMI, it depends what inputs the TV has. DVI won't carry audio signal, so you'd have to input sound with something like a 1/8" to RCA from the computer. I don't know if there's an HDMI > DVI+Audio or anything.

With the newst hdmi version you can send 7.1 sound without loss (uncompressed)

Maybe so, but he's not using HDMI.
EDIT:
Nevermind, I semi-misunderstood.

HD 3870 does not have HDMI, but you will need to use the supplied DVI to HDMI adapter in order to get sound.
Just make sure you select HDMI as your audio device otherwise it won't work.
