just turned 18 thinking about getting one don't feel like paying all that extra money but half to sign a 2 year contract worth it? yes no what you suggest for a phone or carrier? and is their a jail break out for it?i know their is for the 3g but what about thee 3gs

Verizon is fine, get the Versa or Dare or NV3 or even a blackberry, it's only $15 for unlimited internet.

Mind you that it's already become a new gaming platform with good studios developing for it, so if you like games, it may be a must have soon.

It seems that the 3GS is already jailbreakable.

I don't know about the 3GS, but a friend of mine has a 1st gen iPhone and he says that as a phone, it's crap compared even to cheaper options.

In the end it all comes to the reasons you want a new phone. Getting an iPhone just because it's a fad even though you don't need many of it's features would be very stupid.

I have a T-Mobile G1, I love it to bits. Its the linux/general computer savvy phone for any geeky person. Although, if you live out in the boonies, EDGE is slower than molasses.

The 3G is better than the 3G S unless your looking for a phone with voice dial, a compass, video recording, and other things and doodads. Only get an iPhone if you're interested in apps more than anything else, if you're looking for a phone for e-mail on the go I'd get a Blackberry Bold, it's pretty nice.

I'm getting an iPhone 3GS because it's simple and it's like 100 things all in one.
Calculator, clock, alarm, stopwatch, calendar, weather, stocks, YouTube, nice messaging system, flashlight... And if I ever need anything I'll look it up in the App Store. It also has amazing video and photo quality.

I'm getting one when I come back from Ukraine.

U Shouldnt get the iphone and just get an itouch the internet is free and its a lower price just get another phone
