How do I configure and make cheat engine from source? I have the source, but it doesn't seem to come with a makefile. |

Dragos240: You're using Linux?
On Linux I'm using make for compiling, but it won't work with CE I assume, because it's written in partly Delphi. |

Do you know if there is an open source alternative or port of Delphi for Linux? That would help |

there's lazarus (just need to convert the delphi project to a lazarus project first and then fix a million small bugs and incompatibilities, and not to mention all windows specific api calls)
but if i where you I'd try using wine and delphi _________________

As Dark Byte says, you can't use Windows APIs in Linux, such as the main APIs in Cheat Engine, WriteProcessMemory() and ReadProcessMemory().
You'd have to figure out another way, I think PTrace() might be useful.
A second note: Even if you run Cheat Engine in Wine, you won't be able to memory edit XServer apps. |
