With summer reading project, its due in 3 days.

I need to make a crossword puzzle with 10 across and 10 down. Ive found some generators on the internet, but im not sure if i should use them.

And when i do get it setup, should i hand draw it, or use excel?

Use the crossword generator to make a layout, then proceed to reproduce the crossword using MS Excel (don't forget to intentionally mess up in a way to make it seem as if you created it).
