A few things that are bothering me with this is that I made the left arm too skinny without thinking about it, and (due to a crap pencil) the shading is terrible.

could you explain his right arm? It doesn't look ok to me, arms are too long, hats don't go that way.

KEep drawing pirates, and you'll be a good artist.

Yeah, I started running out of room, so some of the proportions are pretty wacky as well.

Edit:

To the above post, the right side of his body is just black to show that it is behind him, it is just a different style. Also, the hat is just tilted, that may be why it seems odd.
