Cheat Engine

I am hacking an emulated game using Cheatengine. The value for experiance is stored in a 2 byte address. However, the maximum value i can set for 2 bytes is 65535. I tried changing the value type to 4 bytes but this is what happens:

06196976 4 Bytes 99999

Address Type Value
06196976 2 Bytes 34463

In game the xp shows as 34463

I can set the xp to 65535 but that only gets me like 60 levels. Can anyone help me?

Looks like the game just isn't programmed to handle experience values larger than 2 bytes (and it's not because it's an emulated game, because if it was byteswapped then 99999 would turn to 40838)

maybe try changing the exp rate? if you can pick what monster(or whatever..) its should be easy I think.

Experience just can't go higher than 65535
But perhaps try editing the experience needed to level up
e.g 1 exp gains a level
Still limits to 65535 levels though (or 255 if the level value is a 1 byte)

Thanks Dark I hacked the required exp needed to level up instead and hit 99 with one fight thanks.
