I hear a lot of talk about this CUDA what nVidia made. I read what it is but I can't understand fluent English very well nor I am some fan of the GPUs or w/e they're called. So what is CUDA?

In short, is is a developer's toolkit for using advanced graphics processing with greatly increased speeds. It also allows for using the GPU for tasks normally used by the CPU.

NVIDIA's C-language GPU-acceleration technology. Essentially, it allows software developers to improve performance (with users using NVIDIA CUDA-supporting GPUs) in their normally CPU-stressing applications. It still lacks in mainstream support outside of F@H.

Toolkit designed with the idea of exposing general purpose GPU usage.

It's quite interesting actually, as I imagine it scales quite well with applications that can be parallelized but have no traditional GPU hardware support.

Raytracers, voxels, etc.
