every time i go to play games like, cabal or runes of magic and counter strike, my computer just crashes.
i downloaded cabal went on it, worked for 5mins then my computer just shuts down without closing the programs and its the same on the other games
i had this problem before then i reset everything on my pc and now i got it again...
...
i got vista
1gb ram
1.80ghz
which is over the Minimum requirements for cabal to play.
thanks

It's probably overheating.
Also, minimum requirements are just the estimated requirements to even get the game to start, not the requirements to allow the game to actually be playable. As far as MMORPGs go, Cabal's fairly graphically intense.

How many programs were you running when it shutdown?
Also, a 1.8ghz CPU is bound to reduce performance, especially in MMORPGs where data processing is a priority. Hell, I can't even run Photoshop properly without 2.0ghz!

ghz is not representative of speed.
the shutdown is likely either:
1. CPU's overheating
2. power supply is shitting the bed.

My mistake.
It should be overheating of the CPU. The power supply failing is a rare situation, and he said he was downloading some game. It should be using most of the computer's resources, not to mention he was also 'working' at that time.

When you play games your processor need to work alot harder, while surfing
almost none processor power is needed.
Download speedfan, and check your temp with it (search at google for download).

When you said shutdown, do you mean the system completely turns off (no power) or your game just closes itself while your machine is still on?
If it did completely turn off are you able to turn on your system immediately right after that?

well... the computer shuts down str8 away, and it mostly just restarts the computer. some times my computer gets to the login screen then shuts down and does that a like 5 times then it works.
if its my cpu over heating wat can i do to fix it
nd if its my 1.8 ghz should i upgrade to fix it?

nd if its my 1.8 ghz should i upgrade to fix it? | You can get a better cooling fan to start. Maybe like 3 in the same case. Seriously, my computer has 3 fans, and runs just fine.

Or u can clean out the dust out of ur comp, b4 in mine the dust was blocking the cool air from the fan and it was runnin hot. If that does not help just get a new fan i guess.

The OP would need a better CPU fan, not case fans.

If you are having temperature problems, here are some methods you can try to fix it.
- Clean the dust out of your CPU heatsink/fan and you would probably want clean the dust out throughout your case also. (Motherboard, Graphics card, RAM, HDDs and Intake/Exhaust fans) You can do this with a compressed air can or find a way to make your vaccum shoot air instead of sucking air.
- Re-sit your heatsink onto your CPU using new thermal compound
- If the problem still occurs and it's a temperature problem, just get a new cooler. Here's a decent heatsink/fan with a easy installation method at an affordable price:
For AMD Processors (Socket 754, 939 and AM2)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185125
For Intel Processors (Socket LGA775)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186134
If the 2 coolers I listed do not support your socket, reply and I will find another one that fits. Just tell me what socket your CPU is.
To figure out what socket your CPU is using, you can use a tool such as CPU-Z. Google it.

well ill clean it in the morning, but i had speedfan on when i opened a game.
it said that the temps stayed the same
temp1:20c
temp2:45c
temp3:24c
core0:43c
core1:44c
and while running the game for the 5mins i can the cpu usage was like 90%+
then when i got my computer back on and opened speedfan it said that the core0 and core 1 were really hot, it came up with a little pic of a flame
