For some odd reason my new Q8200 is extremely hot. I applied a rice grain amount of MX-2 and my AVC heatsink is on, but the idle temp for all the cores is like 56 degrees. Any suggestions?
Replies are appreciated.

Run prime95 or some stress testing application and see what the load temp is.
If it's under 70 then you should be fine, I believe the Q8200 runs hotter because of the 65nm architecture.
What HSF are you using btw?
Also, have you overclocked? Did you let set your vcore in your BIOS to auto? Because sometimes when you set it to auto, it tends to set more voltage then your system needs to be stable.

Ahh thanks at least for the reply, prime 95 i have tried core 0 gets to 74 degrees the others get like about 69 or 71. I have the AVC hsf from ibuypower you can check it out it says AVC overclock proof or something. no overclocking, i have yet to check voltages and im not sure what they should be. Also just a random fact the Q8200 is 45nm tech. its on the box and newegg. =)
EDIT: changed my voltages and got at least 2 degrees Celcius off my cores. thanks for that. =)

My mistake, got mixed up with the Q8200 and the Q6600.
Anyways I tend to find ibuypower products cheap. So I'm guessing that HSF isn't really doing that great of a job, and maybe you don't have enough airflow.
Well what CPU do you have so I can maybe look for a new cooling solution for your PC?
Also, cable management helps better airflow in your case.
Here's a couple tutorials:
