| Might have been my PSU failing. What might be some causes to this happening, so I can probably fix it?

It might or might now. It could have to do with a coiled wire vibrating at a high frequency or your graphic card's power transformer (or something i forgot the same) giving off a high pitched noise.
It could be many things but have you been having random BSODs, artifacts in your gaming, or smelling something burning and nothing is?
