I'd suggest going to a doctor to have it checked at. Broken bones can't be fixed by just icing them and resting, it's still broken.

Confirm it's broken. Then find a nice FPS online, or play Xbox Live. You will officially have no life for the next 3-5 months.

| Don't them sometimes give people steroids to help heal faster? I'm not sure if it was exactly this kind of injury.

Never heard of RICE, but I know that elevation is definitely needed. (I've taken many health classes in HS)

Healing all depending on how severe it is, but some people will still feel the pain even after they fully recovered. My elementary school teacher broke her ankle when she was young and still can still feel the pain (it's not constant, but just reminds her of that day) after all those years.
Better take care of yourself and don't do anything dramatic with you legs like jumping.

keep it elevated and ice it, as it will help the swelling. Hopefully it's in a splint / cast?
other than that, sit around.

RICE is a memory aid often taught for physical education (if you do theory, as you do if you continue PE past a basic level).
Also, there is not much you can do. The less you force it, the quicker it will heal. Ice will ease the pain, but there is not much more to do.
