I know I need an HDMI wire. My graphics card has one. All I do is get an HDMI wire and connect it from my GPU to my HDTV?
Does that take care of the audio too or do I need something else? If so, what?

It takes care of the Audio. I to use an HDTV as a monitor.

Hopefully it doesn't look terrible... A lot of times TV + computer = terrible quality.

Well I am going to download some Blu Ray movies in 720 DPI or more so that won't look bad will it?

I couldn't really tell you, i'd just like to say that TVs make horrific monitors.

This all depends on the type of card you have. ATi has a build in audio decoder so it will support audio over HDMI. Nvidia on the other hand does not. For the nvidia cards, you will need to link the supplied S/Pdif cable from the card directly to the pins on your motherboard or soundcard (if soundcard has a S/Pdif connector).
Then in your sound control panel, select HDMI audio device as your default playback device.

HDTV are ok monitors, but other ones make lousy, low resolution monitors.
You could just buy a nice big monitor and a TV card and then use that as a TV/PC?
