Creating this in 3DS would be hell.
It's much better for animation.

C4D is incredibly easy for renders like this.

Read through a few tutorials, mixed up some of the ideas, then tried some stuff of my own.

1 big black onmi inverse volumetric light
1 central little white volumetric light
