Hi it's Froggy
I have a Dell Optiplex GX620
I need to get some space.
97% of my disk is filled.
I've deleted crap I don't need, downloaded CCleaner, compressed old files, and everything else.
HOW
DO
I
REDUCE
SPACE?!
My max is like 78 Gigs or something.
So would I really have to buy a new C: ?

You should buy a new harddrive, it's not called 'C:', you'd get laughed at at best buy or something. Yes, reformat and get a new HDD, preferably 320GB + (only around 40 - 50 bucks).

Form factor for desktop hard drives are generally 3.5".

If you haven't defragmented in a while, then it can save you quite a lot of space. Especially if you have large files.

Using the specs provided by DrkGodz, get an SATA 3.0Gb/s hard drive. Aim for something with at least 16MB of cache and a spin rate of 7200RPM. Western Digital or Seagate is preferred. Generally, a 320GB drive with those specs will probably go for about $50 on Newegg. Just as a comparison to Best Buy's prices-they usually rip you off (except for a few of their specials).

Ask for a 320GB , SATA II, 7200R/PM, <= 16Mb Cache...
BTW I'd go for a 500GB but that's your decision.

How do I use it?
I get a guy to install it for me or something?...

You can do it yourself...
It isn't hard at all...

1.Ground yourself by holding onto and metal with out paint on it...
2.Screw open the side of your case...
3.Slide your hard drive into a 3.5" Drive Bay.
4.Screw it on.
5.Insert SATA cable onto the hard drive and onto the motherboard.
6.Insert SATA power cable from power supply onto hard drive.
7.Close case and turn on computer...

Cost me 1,500, but it has 15 terrabytes
I'm actually gonna get some of the money back, they sent it in original packaging and all, i wanted express air mail and fine packing, they gave me standard on both. > Sad

I paid them 250 for the S+H...

ok here is how go http://www.fileshredder.org/ and download it(freeware)

ok now that you have it you can right click on any file of folder and delete it from drive permanently.

2 now open file shredder and on the left task pain(menu) click "shred free disk space" now you could choose guttman with 35 passes but that could days with a huge drive like yours so i would use the "dod" or "secure".
now what that will do is any "free" space it will shred the free space the number of times you selected and make sure it is freed up.

3 now when you download a huge file like a torrent and you want to delete it just open file shredder and add the file or folder or zip and just delete it(i recommend deleting with guttman(though it will take longer it will free more space))

That is my short tut i made just for you (literally) hope you liked it and if you did +rep please
