Last night, I saw that someone had opened a folder deep within my system32. I completely disregarded this, closed the folders, and went about my business for the night. It ended in a BSOD. I decided it was just the game I was playing, and left my computer off for the night. This morning, whenever I turn on my computer, something called svchost.exe gets a failure, because some memory cannot be "read". This is important, because svchost.exe is a system operation. I don't know how long, but sooner or later, my computer will freeze, and I'll get another BSOD. Thankfully, I'm able to make this topic. What's causing the BSODs, I don't know. The BSOD says something wrong with the kernel or something.
Anyone want to help please? I tried a system restore to before last night, but I still get BSODs. And no way am I going to reformat. Too many important docs and crap.

Woah, you can tell the past!
I DID turn off my computer while it was doing in install... well actually, it was a brown out but...
So if I just reinstall the thing, it'll work again?
Thanks DB!

it'll overwrite the old windows files with the ones on the cd. (not sure how windows update reacts to that though)

He will need to install some Windows updates (though not all). Winblows should let you know if you try to use something that required a damaged update. Hope you get your computer up and going Penguin - miss ya on MSN man
