They are both 129.99 on newegg, and I always have drifted toward Nvidia most of the time, what do you guys think?

From benchmarks they are pretty much neck and neck (AFAIK).

Go with the cheaper one/brand you like.

I'd probably go with nvidia one... or which everyone one has linux drivers.

I always thought some people said that ATI's cards perform better with AA and stuff like that. is that true?

To be honest I would wait for any new cards like the 4770's or wait till summer because there WILL be sales during summer on newegg and tigerdirect.

The GTS 250 is a slight bit faster, but they're still really close. NVIDIA usually rolls out new drivers that yield a nice performance increase on some games almost weekly.

ATi's only fixed the AA in the new R700 generation of GPUs.

To be honest, 1 reason why I hate ATI is there driver suport.
I bought my computer along time ago with a ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro...
A month later when I ever I play anything fullscreen, I get a atikmdag.sys error and my PC usually crashes... For around 2 years The only game I could play with out crashing on start up is Counter Strike Source, and to play it I need to be on 640x480 Resolution, everything lowest possible...
http://www.driverheaven.net/vista-radeon-display-drivers/133188-vista-7-3-display-driver-atikmdag-stopped-responding-error.html
53 Pages of people with the same problem... And ATI the stupid fucks won't do shit about it... So on my PC I haven't played anything new...
I have a lot of new awesome games but I can't play ANY of them...
On my older PC, I had an old Geforce MX 440, they got got updated often even after it was like 3/4 years old...
Now I have to look for a new video card...

Or maybe you can just update your damn drivers as well as windows?

ATI updates monthly, the driver versions correspond to the date.

Or, maybe ATI doesn't make drivers for its 3 year old graphic cards. Even with proper drivers, I doubt the 2600 could play any 2008/2009 game on high.

I'd be amazed to see it play any 2008/2009 game on medium-low settings.

I played Crysis only low with 30-40Fps, and then there were heaps of other games....
