So yeah, my laptop external fan... the plug to it is ripping apart.. I taped it so that the wire would be straight, but i sort of have to push the wire in a little for the fan to work.
Every now and then when i move my laptop a lil, or the wire moves, the fan turns off and i have to readjust..

is there anyway/anything i can do to fix the wire or do i just have to invest in another one?

So did it work rewiring it with a psp/mini B cable to help supply the correct power?

Dont flame at me because im not an engineer or anything but,
the same thing happened to me but it was a cable USB to my internet.
Now, the main router to where it has to connect is far away from my
actual computer so I had to fix it instead of spending $70 for a new
extended cable. What I did was staple the cable with a staple gun. I
secured it with tape first (do not use electrical Tape (black) because it
doesnt stick well.) Then I measured the depth of each stable and
measures the diameter of the USB cord to make sure it wont go threw.

Maybe you could possibly use that same concept to secure the cable on
the laptop (NOW IM NOT SAYING TO STAPLE IT TO THE LAPTOP WITH
THE STAPLE GUN!)

My mouse had a short in it and I fixed it saving me 50 dollars.

Fix it and then if it doesn't work buy a new one. Save before buying.
