This is what you do:
Get out an essay (Preferably the longest one), and open with Microsoft Word.
Change the date to today's date
Delete parts of the essay, bottom to top, little chunks for maximum effectiveness (But not just 1 word, 1/2 paragraph is good)
Now when you're done deleting to the part where there's only your name and your introductory paragraph, that's when you stop.
When your parents come up, or you hear footsteps, hide that window you're not supposed to do.
Then when they're gone, press the "Undo" button everytime they're gone again so it looks like you're making progress.
Note: If they didn't come for like 2 hours, be careful on the notice and press the Undo button as you need.

I've been doing that since Gr. 6.
And it's even easier if you open a tab at wikipedia and you scroll up and down so it looks like you're reading it.

Edited so it's any activities, not games.
Also, I used to do wikipedia until I found that wasn't a good idea because nobody'll believe you went on wikipedia for 6 hours.
If you had a long essay, they'll believe you.
