|
|
Ok to start off, my chipset is a nForce4. My motherboard is a LaNpArTy UT nF4 SLI-DR.
It comes with a fan/heatsink for the chipset I believe but I just noticed that the fan is not working. There is a heatsink that I see I'm pretty sure.
Temp right now is about 72c. Someone said the max temp is 80 and another said it was 90. Anyone have a solid answer?
So is it fine to leave as it is?

DO NOT let it go any higher than 80C because it starts to cook...

huh I had that same mobo a while back, fan mysteriously stopped working at one point. I kept having to flick it or spin it to get it to start up again. After a few days of that, it decided to keep working again.
Also my buddy has the same one, chipset fan also stopped working. He never bothered to fix or replace it, no problems.
If it really bothers you, they are just a few dollars.
