It's in an attachment. I am wondering most what SeaPort.exe is, it just showed up a few days ago and if I close it it just shows up next time when I reboot. I have already tried stopping it with msconfig. Also, what are the other processes? What can I shut down because I only have 1gig of RAM and I like to play my games without lag.

+REP for most helpful post.

I’m still getting a lot of traffic from people looking for Seaport.exe and how to remove it - Seaport.exe, a battle of the cloud. It’s not a virus, it’s an app from Microsoft for souping up search. If you want to disable it here’s how:

How to remove seaport.exe

[click] start/run [type] ‘msconfig’ [click] ok

[click] services tab [click] hide all microsoft services [scroll] down and [click] untick seaport [click] apply. reboot

Thanks for Pipsqueak for these instructions.

Seeing as you have AVG, everything else seems normal. Then again, 90% of viruses/etc, if you were to have one, hide themselves from the task manager window anyway.

End the seaport.exe, sqlwriter, mdnsresponder, jqs, and niet-actieve.

Also I would goto msconfig and goto services and click the [] with all Microsoft services and scroll down and look through them. End the ones you don't know about. Also do the same with the startup tab.

Ending explorer.exe before starting a game really helps with lagg,
You'd just have to launch the game using Task Manager if you ended it though.
When you finish simply open up task manager and start a new process called explorer.exe and everything should return.
