I just recently reformatted my friends computer from Vista to XP. Everything is fine but, the internet cord is connected but there is no internet.

Download the network drivers. To find them, go to the Device Manager. An alternative way is to turn on windows update and let Windows search and download for your drivers.

You forgot to install the motherboard driver or some other driver.

Yeah you forgot the MB drivers if your connecting to a MB. Also if he has a Motorola modem you will need to install the Motorola modem drivers, I get the same with mine. It wont even see the internet cable there without the drivers on some Motorola modems. Mostly on SBxxxx model. So yeah ask him if he has any drivers for his modem.

If you want, download a program called 'CPU-Z', run it, and tell us the info on the Mainboard tab (Screenshot is preferred!) and we can find the drivers you need.
