and why would you want to be inside a building that will eventually get you stuck at the top
Shotguns have like limted rounds.

roof = more chance of getting spot by flying vehicles
shotgun = mob control, you won't even use it most of time
but the shit problem is

find yourself a cruise ship,
get a good crew, and stock every living room with food that doesnt rot.
then head out to sea.
Zombies cant swim.
Fish will die if they are bitten.
Birds wont swim so far away from land.
and you are saved~
wait a year or 2 untill the zombies begine to die due to starvation and their bodies decomposing, and then go back to land.

yes they can.
their cells will dehydrate.
eventually, their bodies will begin to fall apart.
they need to eat or else they are trully dead.
