Cheat Engine

Is there a possible way for cheat engine to target games that require an emulator to run such as gba, dosbox, etc?

ya, you just attach CE to the emulator. i do it with a GBAE.

when I found lives/ammo for the playstating emulator i just targeted the emulator as well, it should all be in the same proccess, the emulator and game, ce will search anything attached to the emulator like roms would be,

try using different search types, and maybe unknown initial value type searches as well, keep it simple though and work up the searches,
so try byte/2 byte /4 byte default for 32 bit windows/ float for possible decimal values/ double float for 8 byte decimal values,

well your emulator will probably use byte or 2 bytes,
there are lots of types of searches, increased,decreased , unkown initial value, last resort.. changed / unchanged value,

For lives I found that an old 8 bit game used 3 bytes clocking over using a value to turn on or off but not the 1/0 method just other values to do the same thing,
gillingans gold it was called, a right crappy old 1980's game but just goes to show even crappy old games have tricks to make you work to solve them,

oh gillligans gold was on a spectrum emulator by the way ,,

some emulators need a bios (i think that's what it's called) to decrypt the game. that's the biggest problem with PS2 (i'm not sure about xbox) emulators. other then the bios being needed there are some fine emulators out.

1 byte exact value scans work the best on emulator games, since no matter how the bytes are ordered, it's only 1 byte
