i got a second pc yesterday , it was a nice thing till i blew it up.
i decided to put more ram and some other harddisks in it.
so i thought i was pressing the on-off button on the power supply but it was the thing you can change how much watt/volt it get >_<
there was a flash for a sec , a bangboom sound and a lil bit of smoke.
but my question is , can i replace it by a other power supply (from an other merk)?
the one that blew up was a "Compaq dps-240eb"
the one that was in my other pc (still working) is a "Aopen fsp250-60GTA"

| Before you even ask yourself what power supply you want, calculate the watts (power) each device in your PC will use.

The easiest way to go about this is to look up a general guide on how much a normal component uses. If you want to be exact, then find out how much each of your components use or go by an online calculator.
Here's a good calculator to go by.

SAME EXACT THING happened to me.
I replaced the power supply with a compatible one.
Pain in the ass though to pull out the plugs of the blown up one.

Yes it should work but i'd get a 300W power supply just in case you would like to replace/add anything in the future.
