I like the Old one for the color, but the only way I would like the new one is if Dark Byte changed the color scheme of the blue to black and the fonts in the blue to white.

Reasons:
-It lacks detail.
-It looks "cheap"
-CE sign is too blurry.

Also, it the CE sign does not really look like the CE sign. It looks like someone shot the PC screen.

-Details on the sign are on the opposite side of "elegance". It looks cheap becauce its just a PC with some crappy white thing on the background. As for the crappy text, it looks slapped on. Also, is that supposed to be Times New Roman or something similar?
If you want to make something "elegant," then add details. Dont add too many things that draw away your attention.
Elegant things are usually simple and pleasant to look at. Not pure grunge.
The PC looks too unappealing to be considered elegant. Screen doesn't complement the keyboard, keyboard doesn't complement the screen.
If you were aiming for something "elegant" then just abandon that whole "add more crap" thing that you did.
Go for the finer things that attact people's attention and work on that. Don't over do it because it will just look redundant. Which is what you did.

Edit:
stop setting up all these defence mechanisms by saying "maybe" or reinforcing what you know is not good.
Just accept the bad and work on that. Then you can trully advance onto something better.

Maybe your concept of elegant is different than mine.
that notebook is pretty elegant for my eye and I just follow the theme I see, anyways if you don't like it, its ok. I wont make you change your mind. just don't say its bad , because it is not bad.
Good criticism is not saying that is good or bad, a good criticism is just pointing out things that you don't like and trying to give an advice on how to improve.

The definition of elegance that i used was simply a dictionary definition gathered from different sources and placed into 1 collective definition.
Its not my own definition, its a world definition.
My own definition of elegance involves symmetry and rhythm.
