I'm looking for how to make a program that would be equivalent to going to my computer and clicking C:. I need it because C: isn't there at school and I need to access it sometime soon.

I'll give you an example of what I'm looking for.

If you open up notepad, type in start, and save it as a .bat file, it opens command prompt. I want the equivalent of opening C: instead of start.

Also at school, I try to open some files and get "Access is denied. You do not have permission to open this file." or something like that. Is there any way to make it so that I can open the file? NOTE: nothing happens when I right click any file

Well, it's blocked for a reason and I think the computers run a script to block everything that's needed, so I don't think there's an easy way.. and you'll probably get caught, they monitor everything.

It isn't possible to change the right click because they blocked it through registry, and unless they allow you to edit the registry, then you can change those restrictions.

Also, to access the C drive, just type it in any folder bar that displays the destination...such as when you open a folder on your student drive, it would display like H:\StuCommons...etc, instead of H:\.... just replace that with C: and hit enter and see if it opens up like that...

Code:
explorer C:

that's the batch script and, no, it probably won't work. the drive letter could be anything from A-Z, it doesn't have to be C, and they would have it out of your access.

@Cearth - I can open registry edit through command prompt, which is odd...

Also, there is a shared folder that everyone can access the files, and one of the files redirects you to C: if you open it. I just want to know how you got it. And... if I type in C:\ or C: in the address bar (I think that's what it is called), I get access is denied.

are you able to edit the registry though? Because sometimes you can open it, but you can't change it.

I don't know anything about registry, so I don't screw with it. All I know is that I can open regedit.

not good enough, regedit is probably set to read-only.

try making a .bat file containing the text "command.com" and use DOS to navigate through your system ("cd C:\" "dir" etc)

if you can boot from a CD, that'll probably be your most user-friendly bet - boot into a linux and access your C drive from there.

They could boot externally. And have secure scripts.
