If i want to use torrents on my iphone that im getting tomorrow (like getting cracked apps) will there have to be certain steps? If so, please post them.

you need to jailbreak to use any of your cracked apps or anything. yes it voids it, which a restore can fix.

Okay, it voids warranty, BUT, its incredibly hard for them to find out.
I jbed my iPod touch 1g many times, which recently died, got a new one no questions asked.

You do need to jailbreak to get cracked apps on there, and the chances of bricking are really less than 1 percent.

Jailbreaking modifies the iPhone os to allow unsigned apps to run, including Cydia, which installs many, many apps not available on app store, the main advantage of jailbreaking.
