| Ok, sometimes like if I alt tab out of something like a game, or if i'm just doing something, my headset will get static. It hasn't done it before it's just been doing it the past few days. I haven't broken it or anything. I have a plantronics headset. If I replug it in, the sound goes away completely, and I have to restart my computer.

Does it only happen while pushing alt+tab? Does it continue to happen after?
It seems to be a USB headset, am I correct? It's normal not to have sound after unplugging it.

No, that's what I meant; when you unplug it, there will continue not to be sound even if you plug it in.
That's weird. Only while pushing alt+tab...
Have you tried it on another computer?
