This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: None, i can't use either of these.
Cons: Twice now i've had to RMA because a double-slot card was sent. Representative is going to make a special note this time. Will the third time be the charm?
Other Thoughts: Wouldn't expect this from newegg, all other dealings have been stellar. And RMA response time is awesome. |
this is a 2 slot card... and hes rambling on about how he wanted single slot? lol

Pictures on newegg for that product.
I'd be angry too if the product didn't arrive as it looked, more so if it took over two expansion slots.
Product with the rage guy.

What?
The point is that its a single expansion slot card in the photo, but he keeps receiving two slot 4850s, not as advertised.
Example of a card that takes up two expansion slots.
Notice the grills.

I think he's referring to motherboards with 2-3 PCI-E x16 ports having extra space between the ports.
Op, I don't see what's so funny about it. I'd be pissed off too if newegg sent me the wrong cards twice.

Not really Newegg's fault, sometimes manufacturers release new revisions with the same model number, and change things like this.
I don't see what he's bitching about though, he got a superior cooler. If I got a card that was different, I'd realize, oh, there must be a new revision. The fact that he's sending back for his 4th card makes me wonder how many times he's going to RMA it before he inevitably realizes that every single one he receives will be the same.
The funny part is he put his tech level as "high."

The 4850 is generally a 1 slot card albeit taking up two slots in size, but he is completely right, they should mention if it takes two slots, or atleast put the right picture.
For example when i ordered my one i would not be happy if i did not get the one in the picture as it was the best one

As unfunny as Kevin Nealon.

I find card with dual slots to be useless if the fan is not covered by a plastic shroud. All that hot air just goes all over the place instead of a diect path out the back of the pc.
As for me yeah I'll be pissed off too if the product I get is not the one in the picture. But to stop wasting my time RMAing I'll just go with another brand.
Talking about 2 slot, this guy takes up 3.
