OK HI guys,
well here is my problem, I've been researching etc. for the past few hours and I've decided to build my own computer, although I've made my mind up on the graphics card, I'm not really sure what other things to buy.
(because I'm a noob @ comps)
So far this is what i got... (its short and depressing)
I've got the CD/DVD drive covered.

HARD-DRIVE - At least 150gig hard-drive
GRAPHICS - NVidia GeForce GTX 260
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (THANKS TO MOZILLA FIREFOX)
MOTHERBOARD - Motherboard should have at least 4 RAM slots so i can install 4GIGs of RAM, Would also like it to have inbuilt sound so i don't have to buy an extra sound card.
RAM - Would preferably like to use a dual-ram motherboard so I'm able to save a bit of power.
COMPUTER COVER - CM 690 (THANKS TO MOZILLA FIREFOX)
PSU - Corsair HX-620 (THANKS TO MOZILLA FIREFOX)
COOLING - Just the normal fans or whatever...

So anyways, i was wondering if you guys would be able to help me decide on what components to get for my new PC.
I'm not exactly a computer pro so i apologize in advance if some of the terms I've used are wrong.
I also live in Australia, if that matters, and prices will vary from country to country.
Was Also wondering if you guys could list the specs on the hardware i should buy so that i know exactly what to say when i go to the store
(like i said I'm an absolute noob at computers hehe...)
If you decide on helping and need any other spec's I'd like on the PC just post back here.
THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Where in Victoria, Melbourne? And HDDs aren't that expensive. I think 640GB HDDs are the best bang for buck currently. And what are you going to be doing on the computer? There's no point purchasing a "high-end" graphics card (GTX 260) if you're going to be playing Minesweeper or Pinball or typing in Notepad.

For your Power Supply unit, I'd recommend the Corsair HX-620. As for the case or chassis, try the CM 690, Antec 900/1200 or Lian Li's ...? And modern motherboards will always come with an on-built sound-card. As for the CPU, I'd recommend the E8400 (3.0GHz) and in addition, you can easily overclock it to 3.6GHz with ease. Simple increments to the FSB of which is 400 in this case.

As for a board, I would recommend either the Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L or the ASUS P5Q pro. They're typically priced very similarly, the main differences being that the P5Q pro has an integrated RAID controller and 2 PCI-E x16 ports (allowing for Crossfire, if you choose to get two ATI graphics cards at some point) and that the EP45-DS3L is more colorful and can support more RAM (16GB vs 8GB on the P5Q pro).

If you never plan on running two or more HDDs in a RAID 0, 1, 5 or 10 config and don't plan on buying two ATI cards to run in crossfire, get the GA-EP45-DS3L. If you do, get the P5Q Pro.

Every Motherboard has onboard audio.

But if you get a Hardware accelerated sound card.(Most are)

You would get bettter framerates because the Cpu isn't running the sound. It would be the Sound card. Which could add maybe 10 FPS?
