Currently I'm playing WoW and my PC can barely handle it, and since I suck at picking processors..
I need one that will allow me to run 2 clients at least.

PC info:
<SF> OS: WinXP Home Edition 5.1 SP2 (Build #2600) CPU: AMD Sempron 3100+, 1.81 GHz, 256KB Video: NVIDIA GeForce 6100 (1280x1024x32bpp 60Hz) Sound: Realtek AC97 Audio Memory: Used: 457/1119MB Uptime: 4d 2m 27s HD: Free: 80.91 GB/158.35 GB Connection: NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller - Packet Scheduler Miniport @ 100.0 Mbps (Rec: 2769.07MB Sent: 709.76MB)

RAM and a graphics card I can get myself.
Motherboard:

I probably need a new board too, considering it's old and only has one working RAM bank, but I'm not getting much back in taxes and I can't spend too much. If you need any other info, let me know.
I'm in the states...so I'd like to use newegg.

With what money?
Ontopic please.

RAM I can get fairly cheap at a local store as I've done alot of business with them at my previous job, my graphics card can handle 2 clients until I have money for a better one, the processor goes bat shit insane when loading.

I will eventually be buying all new parts from newegg and building my own...but that's months from now.

Zodin...not a good idea.

Anyways, what exactly is your price range for a new processor? Would you consider getting a new motherboard for it?

Honestly, I don't think I'm getting back more than $500 in taxes, if even that much.

Currently I'm using DDR RAM, so I'd definitely need to buy new most likely.

But lets see what you guys can put together in terms of a processor, mobo, and 2GB of RAM.

Remember

AMD > Intel

Never upset the balance.

Well, AMD is if you're on a very tight budget. Intel has more bang for buck.
It really depends on what you really want. I don't know much about how WoW works, so just wait until somebody who does posts. (Yes, I've never played WoW.)

What socket is your mobo?

If it's 939 then you may have some luck as there are dual core AMD CPUs build for socket 939, if you get socket 754 then your SOL.

Edit: The board you have uses socket 754 so better off geting a new rig instead.

Btw, you got a eMachines, Gateway or something?

All of it will be junk a few months down the road, as you will most likely be using DDR3. This is just under $200. You could go cheaper, but if you did you probably wouldn't notice much of a performance difference anyways.

Thanks, that should do me good enough until I find another job, then it won't matter as this PC will probably just be used for movie storage space.

1. Just get a cheap dual core

2. RAM, lots of it

3. WoW is more GPU bound that CPU bound. Dalaran is fucking horrible, and I got better FPS in Crysis because Wow uses an archaic piece of shit engine.

He can't upgrade the RAM. That computer uses DDR RAM, which is ancient history.

I'll just order the two that Flyte posted. Should be around 200 bucks total with shipping and handling, and that's within my price range.

PM me if you see better deals by Monday.
