My Anti-Virus software can't connect to update server

Well, i have Trend Micro PC-cillin, it's legit, not warez. Anyway, as of today, i have been getting an error when I try to update, not to mention my computer is spazzing out because my anti-virus isn't up to date. So, I click Update now and I get

Code:
An error occurred while connecting to the Internet.

Check your Internet connection and try again. (28)


this is exactly as it is said in the pop-up.
So, how can I possibly fix this?

You may want to try updating directly from the website, or contact them directly Phone/Email..

esupport.trendmicro.com will probably have an article somewhere on how to manually update with files from them. Don't hesitate to google it up.
