Improved resource usage over Vista. My first boot of it on a VM took just a bit over 350MB without Aero, and Aero is supposed to have been cut down by 50MB, so with Aero, 500MB idling. There are also some new handy GUI improvements.
It's supposed to run nice and fast on a 768MB P4 system, that's a very bold statement for an operating system like Vista.

WEI: has a score of 2.6
Not bad as currently it seems it's better optimized than Vista. |

Its like that by design. People complain about it being a 'memory hogger' because they don't meet spec.
If you have a decent computer now it'll run more than well enough.

Also it is an amazing OS especially comeing form Microsoft and it being in beta. I have only had problems with the desktop management but it was easily fixed.

yeah that is another thing i noticed while running speedfan. I also did compatability testing and everything i got worked so yeah...even rocket dock and RK launcher worked Camstudio worked amongst other apps
well actually i'm Typing this in Minefield on Win7 so yeah

...what? I thought we were in Computer Talk and not RS.
On topic:
If you have 1gb of ram, sure you can run windows 7.
Try running something on it..
You will most likely need at least 2gb of ram for it to work smoothly and
to have enough memory to run windows and other apps.
