Installing a lot of stuff only takes up HardDrive space but doesn't slow it down much unless your hardrive is nearly full....

What really slow's ur pc down is installing and running a lot of app's...
Especialy if you have a low mount of RAM...
Go To Task Manager(Ctrl+Shift+Escape) and select Processes tab...
Click on the Memory box to show memory usage highest to lowest and end the process u dont want running.
Be aware not to end system processes....

It's quite likely that most users don't know half of the things running on Vista. System processes are often hidden (although you do have a quite high number, even for Vista).

OK
Take a screenshot of your process list and upload them on an imagehost site so I can take a look.
You can check which processes are viruses by using ProcessLibrary

It's simple to end a process in vista.
Select the process and push delete then enter...

Oh, and control user-installed programs that are executed at startup by running (type 'run' in start menu search, right click > Run as admin) "msconfig" and going to the "Startup" tab.

You (obviously) need to know what process you're ending. Probably shut down a system process. Rolling Eyes

You defintetely have allot of fucking processes...
Maximize your task manager window and enlarge the description bar to see what each file does and end process crazy...

That'll definetely speed up your PC...
I see a couple of things that are using a lot of memory...
Firefox *32 64mb memory 'WTF IS *32????
javaw.exe 211mb
scar.exe *32 133mb
And still alot more

My firefox runs at 50,000K.
The rest is under 10K

That just signifies that a process isn't x64 (when using a 64-bit OS). Firefox will use more memory if in use for more things.

Well the amount of processes running will normally depend on whats running at the startup menu. And a lot of programs these days automatically run themselves at boot. So if you have a butload of programs, then there is a good chance its slowing you down.

msconfig causes errors for users with UAC enabled as a the "do not show me again" dialogue box is blocked off.

User need to unblock it and then completely close it off.

If UAC is enabled, run Windows defender software explorer to disable the programs you don't want to startup.
