A prisoner (murderer escaped from jail recently in my area, the police are still looking for him.
For some reason, I keep getting visions of a guy squatting outside my door, and I don't want to look too closely, I'm afraid of getting shot D:
So I don't know if the guy is real or not, what do I do to calm myself?

Go outside and check. If it's real, then you can die knowing that you were right, if it's not real, you can rest in peace knowing that there is no murderer outside your house.

did you actually see something?...
anyway.. use a flashlight.. that way he can only see some bright light comming out.. and not where you are

Or maybe he'll realize that someone has to be HOLDING the flash light and thus realize that the person is where the flash light is.

He escaped 3 days ago.
The police are looking for him.
We are in New York.

Well if he is in New York then alot of people live there. Do you live in a
house or an apartment?
I need to know because there are different things you could do depending
on what type of place you live in.

Guns = Police & AU Army
You need a hella convincing report on why you want a license
Then people come out to see if it was true, like if you got a farm and wanna hunt some game on it, then they check it out and see how much space you have. In case of stray bullets

Since you didnt respond to my post Ill give you all the options.
Either dont go outside at all
Check from the second floor window or something so that "he" wont see.
or just go overthere with a knife.
I think you'll be fine.... I live in New Jersey and murders increased 62%
in Jersey City.

In Canada the only guns you can have are rifles. The advantages are that they are hard to conceal... There are much less shootings in Canada then the USA for that reason.... The USA has something like 3 guns per head (person) (even babies)!
