So I'm trying to buy a Radeon HD 4870 1GB but there are like a bunch of different brands?

I guess they give the specs to manufacturers and let them loose? *shrug*

Anyway, the only difference I see is a small increase/decrease in Memory Clock, but is that it?

Yes in memory clock and Core clock,
Looking at that i'd go for the powercolor, but better yet get a 512MB card since 1gb is unneeded

Also after rebate the powercolor is $5 cheaper then the Sapphire

ATI really only makes the GPU itself (the small chip at the heart of the graphics card). Then, it distributes them to companies like PowerColor to add RAM chips, PCB (I'm not really sure), any type of fan, and any sort of overclock beyond ATI specifications. They might use RAM with lower latency, or by a different manufacturer (Samsung instead of Qimonda). The same thing goes with the other aspects. It really depends on what features you want; they can really make a big difference.

well I ended up tricking an employee at frys to sell me the diamond one for 200 bucks.

I don't have the right power plugs so I have to go back there tomorrow >.>. I wish the plug req would be on the box.
