Any RAM will do. CL* doesn't matter. Speed doesn't matter.
Order of importance:
Size (95%)
Speed (4%)
Timing (1%)
Best price/size ratio and as long as they offer lifetime warranty, buy it.

It doesn't matter the type of ram.
BUT
I would get DDR2/3 because the mobos of them hold more.

DDR2
800MHz is usually sufficient, unless you're overclocking.

Speed does matter, try a 300mHz then try a 800mHz you will see alot of difference, tho most wont get any difference over 800mHz, only extreme overclockers.
I can clock from 2.2gHz to 3.4gHz with 800mHz ram.

| Just get some non-economy-type DDR2 800 DIMMs (if your motherboard supports DDR2). It's cheaper than the others and performance should be fine.

DDR2(800mhz), also if you going to put 2+ cards(dual channel) in your motherboard make sure they're the same make.

Don't motherboards fail when you've clocked more then 2.0 on more then 2 sections???

best of the best IMO = patriot RAM, though it's usually more expensive than others and runs on high voltage.
a lot of people recommend mushkin
