anyway I know my motherboard is SLI capable but does it matter which kind of graphics cards are used together? Like for instance, I have a 8800gts 512, could i put any other nvidia sli card in their? or does it have to be the same card?

Nice, did you overclock yours? i got mine to 790core, 1140 for my memory, and 1990 for Shader clock. =) so i guess i can only run the same card through my research, do you know if that's true?

Yes
Sli can only be used if you have 2 of the same cards, in your case a 8800gts
Though, the GTS is a OEM card i believe. I do not know for sure it can be used with a 8800GT.
If i were you I'd do a little more research before buying an other one

You can NOT run the 8800gt and 8800gts, they have to be exactly the same cards for sli, and the gts isnt OEM, oem means original equipment manufacturer which means its bought directly from the manufacturer or its come from a seller like dell.
And running sli is a big hassle tbh i dont recommend.
