Something deleted my file hal.dll now when i try to start my pc it starts to load Windows XP and it doesnt complete it restarts my pc btw hal.dll was in WINDOWS folder

Call the company whom sold you the computer, They have to give you a working one, Unless by "It wont work" you meant "I threw it away" then obviously you're screwed.

Just pop in OS cd and press repair.. if you dont have it, either get it somehow Wink

That once happened to me with Canvas.dll,
I dont understand, does it restart after Windows load or does it restart at
random times (like 5 mins after you sign in because if it happens in a
while you can google hal.dll just like I did, I downloaded it and it worked.
Canvas.dll was better to work with though because it just made the
screen red and black.

Use a linux bootable distro and then place the HAL.dll in.

i had an error a little like this... except it said wowfx.dll is not a valid windows image

ive been told to reinstall windows... but i want to know WHAT it means...

that or create a seperate partition that you can boot off and replace the file with. then you can delete the new partition and resize back the original.
