E; \ : 10 gb free space
How much space is needed for all those 1337 visual effects of ubuntu??
EDIT: C:\ HAS WINDOWS, so do i need to install in C:/? E:/ will be good cos it it has more space. btw will my ati graphics card work?

Other solution, get a cheap HD. They're so cheap nowadays, 1TB for under 120USD.

OP, are you talking about Compiz fusion?
Not sure of actual package file sizes, but not large at all. If you make a partition to install Ubuntu on, you can probably install the desktop effects.

so do an external boot from an external hard disk (usb)? so you'd have to change the master to usb, instead of hdd?
