how do i turn safe mode on for my computer? cuz need to run a virus scan without my computer crashing

it dosent work. wen i tap f8 it shows the boot menu

from there "boot" into safe mode.

After your BIOS splash screen but before Windows' Boot screen.

Turn off your computer by pulling the plug.
Then you'll get a message about Windows not shutting down properly. From there, choose Safe Mode.

it defragments your hard drive. i wouldn't use the windows one though, it's quite slow. Perfect Disk 2008 all the way.
