When safe mode loads i get this:
mlt:(01)dislx(0)rdisk(0)partition(i)\windows\system32\drivers\isapnp.sys
mlt:(01)dislx(0)rdisk(0)partition(i)\windows\system32\drivers\viaide
mlt:(01)dislx(0)rdisk(0)partition(i)\windows\system32\drivers\puibizx
etc... etc...
So what is going on...
When i start it normally, it still doesnt work
Microsoft XP logo appears and loads.....my keyboard numpad light is off
Then after that a black screen appears...and my keyboard numpad light turns on...
what is going on? is there a malfunction with something?

Windows is loading the required components for Safe Mode. Be patient.

You'll probably want to debug the problem of running your computer normally by running it in Safe Mode.

Does the screen turn black after you log on, or right on start-up? You may say that obviously it was after start-up, but some have computers that log on automatically... So, answer teh question Razz

I don't think he wants to reformat, but yes, that is an option.

the screen turns black right after the xp logo load

i tried reformating with my XP SP2 CD disk but it also doesnt work<

It tells me to press Any key to start.
I press a key
It installs
When it gets to a screen, it says something like press F to fix and F3 to install windows
Then when i press a key it doesnt work by saying something about my hard disk and suddenly restarts by saing Reboot in 15secs..

Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your comuter.
Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk-related hardware configuarion is correct. This many involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or setup program.

Setup cannost continue. To quit setup, Press f3

I feel a quite important issue is asking what you did recently to your system. Need help? How did you get to where you are now?

Do you have the resources to burn a Ubuntu/DSL/Slax CD and try to boot with that? A virus shouldn't be able to mess with how BIOS boots from devices.

take your computer in to a technician and let them fix it for you. you obviously have no clue what you're doing and you're going to create more problems for yourself.

an iso is an image of a cd/dvd to be burned, you open it with nero/imgburn, whatever, and hit the burn button, maybe too hard for you?

anyway, take my advice and take your computer in, or get someone with a positive IQ to help you.
