A couple of questions on the new processor
1. What is so special about it even though its a quad core processor just from looking at it, seems only as if the mhz has changed
2. Why so expensive?
3. Anything new ?
4. And is it true that the motherboard it uses can support to TWO processors?
asking you guys because you do seem to know alot and its easier to understand
Dont give me garbage, such as no, for each answer, explain a bit

You will probably be able to get better information from an actual site than a summarized post here on cef. Check the External Links of this Wikipedia page.
Pretty much, there are four physical CPUs that are hyperthreaded (like the P4s 3.0GHz+), so eight logical threads.
They really aren't that expensive, really. Quite the opposite, for what you'd be getting: the price is between the Q9400 and the Q9550 for the 2.66 GHz i7. Check the second link on the wiki, it'll tell you why the new technology is superfine.

You can easily find all your answers on Google, or searching around in this forum.
Hyperthreading makes a return (although literally no programs effectively use 8 threads), "Turbo" mode actually works (self-overclocking when some cores aren't used), LGA1366 socket, integrated RAM controller, L3 cache, and probably more.
It's not very expensive at all compared to Intel's last-gen line-up of processors that it replaced.

For all thats planning on to buy i7, I would suggest to wait a bit.
Amd is soon releasing a new processor, and if your like me and don't like amd its still good, because then intel have to lower their prices.
Just wait a bit.

| the cheapest one (just read it on the newspaper, written by the dreamhack) it was going for 300usd here... dunno if its worth the price.

Wtf dude?
There no i7 dualcores. Only quadcores.
And also the power saving is that it will underclock itself automaticly and also turn off cores.
Tho that can be turned off.

How many fucking times am I gonna have to explain to you that it is not a dual core before it gets through that thick head of yours? I know I've explained it to you at least 3 times, yet you still keep going around claiming it's a dual core. All current i7's are QUAD core processors. Since you obviously have a hard time comprehending elementary concepts, quad core means there are four physical cores on the chip. DUAL means TWO
@OP
It supports multi-threading, so it can process up to 8 threads at once. Obviously it won't be as fast as a native octo-core, but it will at least utilize otherwise unused resources to improve multi-tasking.
It also has a built-in three channel memory controller, which will improve memory access speeds and latency since it cuts out the middleman(northbridge.)
It also has several other improvements that give an end result of it being about 30% faster compared to a Core2 chip of the same speed.
Also to my knowledge socket 1366 boards will only support one processor. While it is theoretically possible to add more sockets now due to CSI, I believe multi-socket platforms will still be limited to the server/workstation market, due more to marketing reasons than technological ones. Seeing how much of a flop Skulltraill was, and how poor multi-threading still is, I don't see it happening on desktop boards.
i7 is not expensive at all. Considering it's performance, the fact that it was just released, and the lack of any direct competition, it's very cheap. 1366 boards are another story, but they are very complex and probably expensive to manufacture, but they will most likely drop in price after the initial demand dies down(hopefully.)

No, normal 775, theres a motherboard called "skulltrail".
Soon i7 for servers will be released and theres 2x 1366 sockets on it.
(server only)

About a half year or so, little less.
AMD getting their am3+ in januari/feb.
And somthing after that the prices should drop.
